JFormDesigner 3.1
To use the downloaded software, you need a valid license key.
You can either get a free evaluation license key
or buy a license.
Customer information: JFormDesigner 3.1 is free of charge for existing customers
if the "Free updates until" date of the license key is 2007-08-23 or later.
Upgrades are available here.
Note: JFormDesigner 3.1 requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4.2 or later to run.
JRE 5.0 Update 10 or later is recommended.

Note: because of Eclipse Bug 199020,
Eclipse 3.3, 3.3.1 and 3.3.1.1 are not supported on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). Either use Eclipse 3.2, 3.4 or
a Eclipse 3.3.2 Stream Build.

Installation
Stand-alone
- Windows: Execute the
installer and follow the instructions.
Administrator rights are NOT required. The installer adds a menu item
to the Windows Start menu.
- Mac OS X: Extract
the downloaded archive and double-click the
JFormDesigner application to start it.
- Other platforms: Extract
the downloaded archive and execute
JFormDesigner.sh to start JFormDesigner.
Eclipse plug-in
Download and install using Eclipse Update Manager
Online Update Site
- Start Eclipse.
- Open the update manager (Menu: Help > Software Updates > Find and Install)
- Select the "Search for new features to install" radio button and click "Next".
- Click "New Remote Site" and enter "JFormDesigner Update Site" into the name field and
"http://www.formdev.com/download/eclipse/" into the url field.
- Click "Finish" to start the search.
- Select "JFormDesigner" in the search result list and continue with "Next".
- Accept the license agreement and continue as usual.
- Restart Eclipse
Archived Update Site
- Download the Archived Update Site ZIP file.
- Start Eclipse.
- Open the update manager (Menu: Help > Software Updates > Find and Install)
- Select the "Search for new features to install" radio button and click "Next".
- Click "New Archived Site" and select the archived site ZIP file.
- Click "Finish" to start the search.
- Select "JFormDesigner" in the search result list and continue with "Next".
- Accept the license agreement and continue as usual.
- Restart Eclipse
Manual Download and Installation
- Quit Eclipse.
- Extract the ZIP file to the Eclipse installation folder.
Make sure that the files com.jformdesigner_*.jar are in the Eclipse plugins folder.
- Start Eclipse.
IntelliJ IDEA plug-in
Download and install using IntelliJ IDEA Plugin Manager
- Start IntelliJ IDEA.
- Open the plugin manager dialog (Menu: File > Settings > Plugins)
- Select the "Available" tab.
- Right-click on "JFormDesigner" in the list of available plugins and
select "Download and Install Plugin" in the popup menu.
- Restart IntelliJ IDEA
Manual Download and Installation
- Quit IntelliJ IDEA.
- Extract the ZIP file to the IntelliJ IDEA plugins folder.
- Start IntelliJ IDEA.
JBuilder 2005/2006 plug-in
- Quit JBuilder.
- Extract the ZIP file to the JBuilder lib/ext folder.
- Start JBuilder
Layout Managers
JFormDesigner supports various 3rd party layout managers.
The JFormDesigner package contains the JARs and sources of those layout managers,
but not their documentation and tutorials. Please download the full layout manager packages here:
